  8. The Rochdale Principles are below: • Open membership. • Democratic control (one person, one vote). • Distribution of surplus in proportion to trade. • Payment of limited interest on capital. • Political and religious neutrality. • Cash trading (no credit extended). • Promotion of education.

  9. The Primary Principles adopted by the Giant Forge Work Camp included: • one member = one vote (irrespective of capital investment) • capital investment is made with little or no interest • there are patronage dividends • cash terms • open membership • education expansion
