ISOBUS Kverneland Group Mechatronics BV
The origin of ISOBUS In the eighties Kverneland Group Mechatronics applied for a patent on ISOBUS, a protocol for data communication between tractors and agricultural equipment. The company released the patent in 2001, whereupon ISOBUS grew to become the international standard. Any farmer purchasing agricultural machinery equipped with electronics and an ISOBUS networking provision, is now on a “Plug& Play” level with all systems meeting that standard.
What is ISOBUS? In 2001, farm machinery manufacturers agreed to implement a common standard for communication interfaces on tractors, implements and farm management systems. This common communication standard will enable products from different manufacturers, to easily communicate with one another and eliminate the need for separate controls, terminals and displays. The common communication standard is called ISO 11783 and is commonly referred to as ISOBUS.
Basic components in ISOBUS system • Tractor Electronic Control Unit (ECU) • Virtual Terminal (e.g. IsoMatch Tellus) • Implement Electronic Control Unit

Why ISOBUS? The goal of a common standard is to allow single point control of all implements. All data collection from your machine(s) is centralized and can be easily transferred to your terminal (e.g. IsoMatch Tellus). Tractors will ultimately have just one terminal instead of multiple devices to control sprayers, spreaders and other implements.
How you will benefit from ISOBUS One and only one control console means: • Lower costs: No need to purchase a separate control device for various implements. • Easier operation: Learn how to use just one terminal. • Easier installation: Standardized plugs, cables and software make the concept of “plug-and-play” a reality.
Kverneland Group – ISOBUS Compatible All ISOBUS implements manufactured by Kverneland Group ensure fleet-wide ISOBUS compatibility, also on competitor Tractor Terminals, such as CNH, Challenger, Müller-Elektronik/ Dammann, Fendt, John Deere and Massey Ferguson. At the same time - the universal IsoMatch Tellus terminal ensures compatibility with other ISOBUS implement manufacturers.
Kverneland Group – The ISOBUS Company With the development and availability of 29 ISOBUS machines, the Kverneland Group profiles itself as the ISOBUS company for Agricultural Equipment. All initiatives in development in ISOBUS Technology are undertaken: - to increase the customer benefits in relation to the application of ISOBUS technology within ISOBUS machines. - to improve the compatibility of ISOBUS products worldwide (plug & play).
