MSE In-Vessel Calibration Jig • Objective: illuminate all MSE channels with polarized light of known pitch-angle. • Polarizer either at location of DNB or else mounted on lens L1. • No atomic physics to complicate the analysis • Measure response to both linearly and circularly polarized light. • Capable of large range of incident pitch-angles (hopefully 360o). • Hope to characterize optical components, e.g. phase shift, S/P reflectance of mirrors etc. • Assemble components Fall 2003, perform calibration during winter opening 2004. • Jinseok Ko will be technical lead.
