CBP - March 2nd, 2012 (Fri) INDIAN REVOLUTION Revolution Movements • Salt Walk • Proposed a non- violent march protesting the British Salt Tax in 1930 • Walked 240 miles journey from Sabarmati to Dandi • Started March 12,1930 with 78 men (23 days long) • Women weren’t allowed to march • On April 5,1930 reached the coast • Against the law by picking up salt everywhere along the coast • A month later- Gandhi was arrested and thrown into prison • He was arrested almost a year Gandhi on the Salt March
