DEFINITION • Dental clinic III is a clinical course designed to provide the dental hygiene student with an advanced clinical study of the professional skills and attitudes required for dental hygiene practice.
objectives • Complete a clinical assessment of oral cavity. • Identify normal and abnormal assessment finding across the oral cavity. • Demonstrate proper technique in performing a complete oral examination and DH treatment.
TOPICS • Clinical application of dental hygiene techniques and introduction to advanced and complex skills in assessment ( history and examination , scaling ). • Aseptic techniques and introduction to advanced skills.
Schedule of assessment tasks for students during the semester • 10 mark for 1st assessment. • 10 mark for 2nd assessment. • 40 mark for final exam. • 40 mark for clinical ( log book requirement &case treatment ).
