Designated in 1998 Membership Structure: 50+ member organizations and sponsors Who we are: A voluntary public private partnership that promotes the use of alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies in fleet operations to eliminate the use of petroleum fuels Coalition History
$15 Million for Petroleum Reduction Projects including: $1.2 Million for 100+ Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations in: King County (Issaquah and Kirkland), Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, and Renton Grant Funding Received in 2009 $0.5 Million for solar electric vehicle charging demonstration projects $80 K for EV education and outreach products for local consumers, residents and businesses.
EV Education & Outreach Products • Working with Washington State University to develop guidebook on installing charging stations and using EVs. • Target audience will be residences and businesses installing EV charging stations and using EVs. • Will include procedures to • Evaluate existing service panels, applicable state and local code requirements, etc. • Safely conduct charging station operations and maintenance procedures, including safety devices.
More Education and Outreach • Working with Washington State University and Shoreline Community College to develop a demonstration project on a photovoltaic charging station. • Curriculum for students and professionals who wish to build and install EV charging stations. • Series of fact sheets and outreach materials that educate consumers and EV users about relevant regulations, equipment, safety issues, and available financing.
