PSEG Nuclear, LLC • 3 unit site located in southern New Jersey along the Delaware River. • Salem- (2) 1140 Mw Westinghouse 4 loop PWR units • Hope Creek- one 1031 Mw General Electric BWR
PSEG Nuclear DCP Process Redesign • Process • Goals • Outcomes • Tools
Redesign Process • Dedicated team of 12 people full time for 8 weeks • Focused on Design Change Control process and Organization design • Overall objective was to Streamline the process reducing signatures, handoffs, cycle time and maximize the use of SAP & DCRMS.
Electronic Design Change Process • The following were utilized in designing the new process • INPO AP 929 Configuration Control • NEI Standard Nuclear Performance Model • EPRI TR-103586-Revision 1 Optimizing the Design Change Process
Electronic Design Change Process Outcomes • Redesigned process is totally paperless • All reviews & approvals are done electronically • Affected documents are marked up electronically using our document imaging system (CIMAGE) • Final product is exported from the network drive as a TIF image directly into our Document Management system after final approval
Electronic Design Change Process Outcomes • SAP • All work activities associated with a DCP are created in SAP as operations. • All reviews, approvals and checklists are electronic in SAP • Man-hours are estimated in SAP and scheduled • Provides the transactional record of all reviews and approvals electronically.
Electronic Design Change Outcomes • SAP • Installation & Test instructions prepared on a sub-order to the NUCP • Installing work order NUCM is a sub-order to the Installation & Test order • Field Changes are processed electronically & immediately updated in DCRMS • Close out is electronic
Electronic Design Change Process Tools • DCRMS • All images of DCP are in DCRMS • All records associated with DCP are linked in DCRMS • All SAP order information is electronically stored on an optical disc as part of the DCP record. • All Pending and Outstanding changes are available from any Desk Top computer.
