God’s Renewed Creation: A Call for Hope and Action
A Service of Worship with Bishop Sally Dyck
CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: The Earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. (Psalms 24:1) Response: We have our time in God’s world. We touch the future with what we do. With water and land; trees and grasses; creatures great and small;
Leader: We weave our webs on the face of God's Creation. We live in God's promise --- Response: As long as the earth remains, there will be springtime and harvest, cold and heat, Winter and Summer, day and night.(Genesis 8:22)
PRAYER (Unison): In these moments that exist as a gift from You, our Creator, come into this time and place that our hearts and minds may see Your hand and hear Your voice. Help us to embrace your will in celebrating the power of creation and the gifts of life and relationships.
We join with all of creation in declaring your goodness and in efforts to bring healing and health to all that you have entrusted to us. God of the Wilderness, God of the burning bush that is not consumed, Caller of the prophets, God made flesh among us in Jesus our Christ -- be with us. AMEN.

God of the rainbow; God of the cross; God of the empty grave; How does the creature say grace? How does the creature say thanks?
God of the hungry; God of the sick; God of the prodigal; How does the creature say care? How does the creature say life?
God of the ages; God near at hand; God of the loving heart; How do your children say joy? How do your children say home?
Leader: And God made humans in His own likeness... He made both male and female. And God wanted good to come to them, saying, “Give birth to many. Grow in number. Fill the earth and rule over it.
People: Rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Leader: Then God said, “See, I have given you every plant that gives seeds that is on the earth, and every tree that has fruit that gives seeds. They will be food for you.....
People: Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work the ground and care for it.
Leader: “Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.”(Jeremiah 6:16)
People: We are standing at a crossroads. Together let us seek the good way and find rest for all of God’s creation.
Leader: Seek the welfare of the place where I send you .... Pray on its behalf ... In its welfare we find our own welfare.(Jeremiah 29:7 paraphrased)
People: We seek and pray…for each other….for the earth…and for ourselves. AMEN
