1. Kindergarten Corner! Weekly News from Mt. View Elementary Kindergarten Classrooms September 6, 2013 Math Notes: Language Arts Notes: This week we began writing the numbers 1-4 in our handwriting books. Our materials for GoMath! have not yet been delivered, so math is taking place on the smartboard and with the handwriting books! This week we began our Storytown reading series with Theme 1: All About Me. We are taking this slowly and the children were introduced to the letter M and the word wall word I this week. The letter S will be introduced next week. Extras: • We read the book Chrysanthemum this week and discussed each child’s name. Thank you for doing the home project with them! It was so fun to learn how each student received his/her name. • Ask your students about the visit from Mr. Golden, our school counselor! • The students have received an “I’m a Wildcat now” t-shirt. Now they can show their wildcat pride on Orange & Black spirit days! • If you have not already done so, please send in a paint shirt for your child labeled with his/her name! • Show and Tell is next week! See the schedule on page 2! • If you haven’t returned the parent/teacher conference forms that were sent home Wednesday, please do so ASAP! Teacher Reminders!
