SmartCare (objective 3.1) • Builds on: • the success of previous AAL EU projects (DREAMING, CommonWell) • the expertise of organisations which have successfully managed previous Pilots A (epSOS, RENEWING HEALTH) in the health field • the MAST evaluation methodology developed under contract from DG INFSO, currently used in RENEWING HEALTH and increasingly adopted by other EU and non-EU projects
SmartCare (objective 3.1) • Main features: • holistic view of the older person’s needs • common and comprehensive functional specifications for all the pilot sites preserving freedom of choice for the technological platform • common inclusion and exclusion criteria for participants • common primary outcomes for all the sites • data can be aggregated at whole project level and results can be stratified by individual pilot site
SmartCare (objective 3.1) • The Consortium: • National/Regional Authorities with the budgetary responsibility for health and/or social care • Health and welfare insurers • Public and private care providers • End users’, formal and informal carers’ associations • Industrial associations • Business, organisational and process reengineering consultants • Project management, quality assurance and project evaluation consultants • Transparent selection of regions which will host pilots • Constitution of an Interested Party Board offering its members access to all the material produced in the Project and input into the implementation process
