Professional Background How did I get here . . . • 1993 - Graduated from ZM High School • 1997 - Graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in Elementary Education • 97-98 school year – taught 2nd grade at MCW in Sherburn, MN • Summer of 1998 – Heard about an elementary opening at KW, applied, interviewed, and was hired as 2nd grade teacher.
Professional Background How did I get here . . . • 98-99 school year – my first year at KW teaching 2nd grade with Mrs. Griffin, Mrs. Hildebrandt, and Mrs. Hinrichs. • 98-99 school year through 07-08 school year (10 years): after teaching 2nd grade for several years I moved to 3rd grade. I very much enjoyed my 10 years as an elementary classroom teacher at KW! • 2003 – Completed my Masters Degree in Education through Winona State University.
Professional Background How did I get here . . . • May 2008 – Administrative Intern Positions opens • 08-09 and 09-10 school years – I moved to the Administrative Intern position – Middle School Dean of Students. This was a great opportunity to gain administrative experience while working towards my principal licensure through St. Mary’s University. • July, 2010 – Hired as K-6 Principal for the 2010-2011 school year!
Personal Background . . . I live in Wanamingo with my wife Molly and our three kids Tyler (4th grade), Brianna (2nd grade), and Rachel (preschool). We also have an 11 year old yellow lab named Kirby.

Leadership Goals as Elementary Principal • There will be a focus on student learning and creating a safe, secure educational environment for our students. • Establishing positive relationships and connecting with our students is critically valuable. • We want to be as efficient and effective as possible with the time we have with our students each day.
