  4. Before Treatment – Removal of blue oxidation on copper is important. Brush lightly. Wear mask.

  7. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools Gloves Mask Multiple Rags Safety Glasses Vest Cup of Water Coveralls

  8. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools Non Sparking Brass Scrapers & available at Grainger

  9. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools Non Sparking Brass Brushes – Available at Auto & Builder Supply Stores

  10. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools Disposable Paint Brushes - 1” and 3” and Disposable Paint Cups. Do not put chemical back into bottle. C Stores have cups if you forget.

  11. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools To Speed Up Spraying – We recommend using a Milwaukee Sprayer Model A. If you plan to use, you will need portable air supply. Sprayer is used for final coat of 24/7 Plus - Corrosion Inhibitor and Lubricant. If no sprayer is available , product can be brushed.

  12. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools One Pint of Iron Ox Steel Curtain Per STP Motor & Assembly One Can of Iron Ox 24 / 7 Per STP Motor & Assembly

  13. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools Six to Seven Feet of ¾ or 1” PVC Pipe for each sump. + PVC cutting tool

  14. Before You Start – Supplies and Tools One Iron Ox Vapor Emitter Bulb and Four 6-8” plastic tie wraps per stick

  15. Typical Station View Barriers set with cones and tape

  16. Open Lid Safely / Remove Water Ventilate Sump Area - Expose Air. Remove any water bottom with rags or hand pump.

  17. Check with Safety Manager for Company Policy and GearFor Confined Space Entry. Any power tools used should be UL approved & Intrinsically Safe

  18. Removing Rust with Brass and Plastic Scraper and Brush Double Click If Necessary Debris on floor can be removed manually or approve d vacuum

  19. Removing Rust with Brass and Plastic Scraper and Brush cont. Segment 2 -Double Click If Necessary Just The Gross and Rust Scale – Ok to leave Surface Rust.

  20. Post Scraping with all loose rust / flakes removed. Wipe down with damp cloth after scraping to remove any dust / debris. Remove debris from floor with rag.

  21. Rust Conversion Process with Steel Curtain Segment 1 -Double Click If Necessary Apply Steel Curtain liberally to all metal surfaces in sump area with paint brush. Only metal components with rust will turn dark. One pint per STP assembly.

  22. Rust Conversion Process with Steel Curtain Segment 2 -Double Click If Necessary Two Coats Recommended. Wait 30 Minutes Between Coats. Be Patient! Let it dry.

  23. Steel Curtain only affects areas with rust. No harm to plastics or other surfaces. No Polymer to interfere with future maintenance procedures. Post Rust Conversion. Rusted Surfaces Have Turned Darker.

  24. Apply 24/7 Plus Corrosion Inhibitor Treatment With Sprayer @ 80psi + Double Click if Necessary Two Coats. Apply first coat with paint brush on all Metal components. Wait 20 -30 minutes . Apply second Coat with from sprayer with wide mist pattern from above the STP. Use entire contents for one STP / Leak Detector.

  25. Results Surfaces will have light tackiness and wet look.

  28. Vapor Emitter Stick Attached Vapor Bulb to PVC Pipe. Make sure bulb is as close to lid as possible. Lean or tie in place. Mark date on bulb and replace with new one in 6 months. Throw away old bulb. Non Hazardous.

  30. Maintenance and Inspection Wet Look will wear off first. Expect darker colored components. 24/7 Corrosion Inhibitor will eventually wear off due to environment.

  31. Maintenance and Inspection We recommend repeat treatment in six months at time of vapor bulb replacement. 2nd Treatment will be much easier, less labor than first. Wipe down copper tube with 24/7 at every opportunity.
