CSUN PRIDE CENTER BACKGROUND • Started as a student lead initiative to create support services and a space for GLBT students • Activism and advocacy formed in 2010 after the large number of publicized GLBT suicides (Tyler Clementi, Raymond Chase, Seth Walsh, Billy Lucas…) • November 21, 2012: • The University Student Union Board of Directors approved to operate and fund the Pride Center to support GLBT students.

  3. PRIDE CENTER GRAND OPENING • Doors opened: August 27, 2012 • Grand Opening Celebration: September 27, 2012

  4. ON-GOING PROGRAMS DISCUSSION GROUP PEER MENTORING SOCIAL COFFEE NIGHTS

  5. OTHER PROGRAMS EVENTS CELEBRATING NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY AND TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBERANCE.
