  2. Part 1 • 1. Your team will present an important Supreme Court Case s). Your presentation will be created using a PowerPoint format to present.

  3. Part 2 • 2. In addition to your PowerPoint you will create a class handout. (Mr. Blake will make copies) Both the handout and your presentation should answer all the following questions.

  4. Part 2 continued • a. What is the background information that we need to know to understand why this case was brought to the Supreme Court? Be descriptive. This is the most important part. • b. What is the title and number of this case? • c. How did this case get to the Supreme Court? Explain the process. • d. When was this case argued? Decided? • e.What is the constitutional issue of the case? (Ex. Right of privacy, 14th amendment…)

  5. At this point put a “Team Case Review Slide” • The audience should not know the outcome but will predict it. • When the presentation continues you will answer the following:

  6. f. How did the justices vote on this case? • g. What was the ruling of the court? Why did they rule this way? Who wrote the majority opinion and what was their opinion? What was the dissenting opinion? • h. Were there other opinions written? • i. Was there any precedents referred to? • j. Why do you think this is considered to be a very important Supreme Court case? • k. What are your personal response / opinion regarding this case?
