Production of the first prototypes setof the ER bundles D. Giugni / INFN Milano 2011-06-9 nSQP's meeting
Plan • As soon as the MWS wires have been delivered the production of the prototype bundles has started. • The design of the bundles is rather advanced but still there are uncertainties on • Type of shielding in the external part (outside the PST) • The assembling procedure (affected by the shielding type) • Planned to build: • a full set for the Top OSP (6 bundles) to be sent to SLAC • 2 bundles to keep at CERN. 2011-06-9 nSQP's meeting
Which bundle type • The type of the bundles being produced depended upon the connector board type available first. • Since the B-connector board is already available all the bundles will be B-bundles: • 14 twp AWG 28 copper clad Alu • 14 twp AWG 36 solid copper • 1 twp AWG solid copper 2011-06-9 nSQP's meeting
Documentation • The main production docs are the following: • Service Quarter Panel Electrical Readout Harness Assembly Specifications [ATL-IP-ES-0155] • nSQP's ER Connectivity Table V1.81 [ATL-IP-ES-0167] These docs provide the specs and the mapping to the interface boards (see next) 2011-06-9 nSQP's meeting
Mapping Connector Board Cable Board 2011-06-9 nSQP's meeting
Status • All the bundles have bee produced • Only one has the boards soldered • The tester interface cables are done • Today the resistance and connectivity test on the first bundle has started. Found some shorts and opens to be fixed • If the repairing will be ok, the SLAC set should be ready by the end of the next week. 2011-06-9 nSQP's meeting
