    2. HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Automated Textbooks System Initiative The mission of the Automated Textbook System team is to implement an automated system called TIPWeb that will improve the distribution, collection and accountability of textbook management district-wide.

    3. HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Campus (manual process) Order Textbooks Fax enrollment and staffing Inventory textbooks Create Supplemental Orders Conduct year- end inventories

HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Hayes TIPWeb System will improve operations Interface with the Chancery SIS for enrollment and course information Campuses to place Annual and Supplemental Orders on-line saving time, effort and expense Bar-codes to reduce time required for campuses to distribute and collect textbooks District to reduce costs for purchases of textbooks Standardized textbook policies and procedures Increased accuracy of textbook accounting records

HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Textbooks Online Initiative Implementation Timeline 7 pilot campuses identified to use TIPWeb early in the 06-07 school year (4 of these campuses used SASI) 22 campuses identified that currently use HSS Windows version will be implemented Oct. – Dec. (orders and adjustments only) 14 campuses that have other textbook systems will be implemented Jan. – Mar. (orders and adjustments only) Remaining campuses to be implemented as resources and timing permits

    6. HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Campus Coordinator Training Conducted by Hayes Software Trainers Hands-on at the new Textbook Training lab Register via E-train (courses tba)
