TEAMING Mayfield Middle School Sixth Grade
Teaming: What is a team? • Each team has about 100 students • Four homerooms per team—rooms are located near each other • Core teachers: Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science (most of your day is spent with your team members) • Other team staff: intervention specialist, tutor, instructional assistant
Teaming: Why do we have teams? • Being on a team provides a sense of “family” because it’s a smaller group of people • Being on a team gives each student an identity and a sense of belonging • Being on a team helps students connect with teachers to build relationships • Being on a team helps students connect with peers to build friendships
