2. Setting • Takes place in San Francisco in the late spring • Kate lives in Craig’s house at the moment

3. Characters • Craig Burton- Main Character, brother of Kate, played by Ben Affleck • Kate Burton- Sister of Craig, ex wife of Demetrius • Demetrius Barnes- Notorious drug lord, abusive, ex husband of Kate

4. Synopsis • Craig knew Demetrius and Kate had their problems in the past. But he never expected to suddenly wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of a gun coming from his sister’s room. But there was Demetrius, with a bullet hole right in his head. Kate said it was self defense and Craig knew his sister wasn’t a cold hearted murderer, but she broke the law right? Craig will face the biggest moral dilemma of his life in the next 24 hours.

5. Climatic Scene • The climatic scene in our movie is when Craig sees Kate with the gun in her hand and Demetrius on the ground. At this point Craig has to make the decision of whether or not he should turn in his own sister. All of a sudden he hears a knock at the door, one of the neighbors called 911. As Craig looks at the door, he then looks at Kate, and all the memories they shared together came rushing back. Craig couldn’t betray his own sister, so he decides to lie to the police officer and covers for Kate. But in the end, Craig did the right thing.

6. Quotable Line • “Do not give sympathy to those who do not deserve it”. This line is said by Craig after he discovers what Kate had done, and he’s trying to comfort Kate.

7. Thematic Lessons • This film teaches us that our siblings are most important to us and you shouldn’t tell on them. • It also teaches that you can’t always do the right thing in every situation, sometimes you have to use your gut feelings.
