Teacher Preperation It is very important for the classroom teacher to be completely prepared to meet the needs of every student in their classroom.There are many resources on Mainstreaming hearing impaired children in your classroom.There are also various software programs that teach sign language.
Teaching Tips with the Hearing Impaired It is very important to remember to use as many visual aides as possible in your classroom.Repeat and rephrase your directions clearlyReduce outside noiseRequest that an FM assistive device be put into your classroom to help amplify your voice. Student Activities It is very important that the students be expose other hearing impaired people before their new friend arrives in their classroom. Invite in other people with hearing impairments
When welcoming a hearing impaired child to your classroom it would help to assign him or her to a buddy.This person can let the student know when there is a change in activity or if there is an emergency, such as a fire or tornado drill
