History of Memorial Park This is what Memorial Park looked like before they closed this part of Memorial Park.
Sunken Gardens For the trees and the plants at Sunken Gardens, they use photosynthesis that means that they make there own food and energy. Sunken Gardens was opened in 1924. Sunken Gardens has 3 passage ways to get down to Sunken Gardens. Other thing that Sunken Gardens has a little Slave Hut that you can walk inside. Sunken Gardens use to be a stone quarry that they were mining for limestone and other items. 4
Tennis Courts Pickleball Pickleball is basely like Tennis and Ping-Pong combined. The rules are slightly different and you play half the size of a regular tennis court. The tennis courts are open 24/7 and if you want to play tennis at Memorial Park at night, you would have to turn on the lights. 5 17
Play Ground • There was an older play ground before this one was built. The old play ground was red and they tore it down because it was getting old and it was time for a new play ground. The play ground is a nice place to be to relax and enjoy the time. The play ground has six swings and twoslides and few other things. 6
Lake After it rains otherwise known as precipitation takes place. All of these things play a crucial part into providing a good environment for all the trees and plants at Memorial Park. Water is all around us. Even through we don’t realize it plays a crucial park in our everyday lives. The water cycle start out as evaporation which is the process of water particles turn into vapor, then as condensation, where it starts to build up and then water starts to form into a cloud. The lake probably has no living things in the lake anymore. If we somehow to help to clean the lake it would be cleaner and healthier for the living things. The lake has pollution in the water from sitting there over the years when Memorial Park did not take care of the lake. 9
River The river is the same way of the lake because it hasn’t be taken care of for a while. Every living thing goes in a cycle because one thing dies, than one living thing gets messed up. The Rock Cycle is a huge natural cycle. Memorial Park has a lot of rocks of different types. The types of rocks of the Rock Cycle are Igneous, Sediment, Sedimentary, Metamorphic, and Magma. 11
Photosynthesis Photosynthesis is a process that saves energy and food from the sun. Photosynthesis stores sugar inside like a storage unit. When the sun shines sunlight to the leaves and then it produces energy. When the world starts getting colder, then if the leaves still has sugar in it, it is stuck there and makes the leaves turn colors. 11
