Rationale Trans* people often experience harassment, discrimination and violence (verbal, emotional, psychological, physical,sexual etc.) because of their gender non-conforming, transgressing and variant lives These cases are often unreported because victims often feel powerless to do an action and they often do not have the knowledge as to which authorities to complain to Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines

  3. Rationale Cases of discrimination and violence are not documented and developments on the cases are not monitored so no follow-up action is being done Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines

  4. Goals of the Project i.) to create a channel and provide tools for trans*Filipinos to fight discrimination in education, employment, accessing facilities, social services and public accommodations and cases of violence against their persons Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines

  5. Goals of the Project ii.) to empower trans*Filipinos by helping them help themselves in seeking redress iii.) to document, monitor and compile a database of cases of trans* discrimination and violence in the Philippines. Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines

  6. Process Flow Complainant initiates first communication Ask for contact details and call availability. Make the call. Ask complainant about his/her experience of discrimination/violence A Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines

  7. Process Flow A Ask complainant to document the incident by writing it in detail, and then send it to us through email Research as necessary Call the complainant for discussion and confirmation about the details of the incident B Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines

  8. Process Flow B Finalize by deciding on the action to be undertaken Formal Complaint Letter; A Talk with company/person involved; Consult with Legal Advisor; Referral to appropriate agency Log details of the incident in the database C Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines
