  2. Habitat The electric eel lives in muddy streams and small rivers. But the gulper eel lives in the deep sea.

  5. Communication To communicate with other eels that live near it, the electric eel generates a small shock to communicate to others.

  6. Description • The electric eel is long and narrow mostly 8 feet an olive brown color and an orange and yellow belly.

  7. Reproduction For reproduction the male makes bubble nests for the eggs. The male eel guards young in his mouth for several weeks after hatching.

  8. Fun Facts • The electric eel can produce a discharge of 650 volts.
