  2. Habitat • The snipe eel lives about 125-1235 feet down, and it likes dark places to sneak up on it’s prey.

  3. Description • It is known for it’s huge eyes, and it looks like a duck when it comes to the surface. It has the longest vertebrae in the world. It grows to be about 38 ½ in. long.

  4. The snipe eel eats shrimp, but it has to watch out for the finfish. It will eat it. The snipe eel eats while it is swimming with it’s mouth open. Food chain

  5. Interesting facts • It always eats with it’s mouth open, and has big jaws. It only breeds once, then it dies. It takes 2 hours to get to the surface, but it can breathe underwater for a day.
