Les cinquante ponts Fifty bridges La dépouille mortelle de chacun des 158 (à date) militaires décédés en Afghanistan est rapatriée par vol spécial à la base aérienne de Trenton, en Ontario, où l’attendent sa famille, réconfortée par le Chef de l’État et les plus hautes instances des Forces armées. L’autopsie, exigence légale, est confiée au Coroner-en-chef de l’Ontario, à Toronto. Le cortège funèbre parcourt les deux heures d’autoroute qui séparent les deux villes. Cinquante ponts enjambent ce trajet. Each of the 158 (to date) militarymemberswho have died in Afghanistan isrepatriated by special flight to the Trenton, Ontario, Air Force base, to be met by the member’sfamily,comforted by Canada’s Head of State and by the highestArmed Forces dignitaries. The autopsy, a legalrequirement, isentrusted to the Coroner-in-Chief of Ontario, in Toronto. The funeralconvoyisescortedthroughout the two-hourjourneybetween the twocities. There are fifty bridges along the way.
