Learning Goals Your daily objective (s) of what each student should know and be able to do.
Analytic Rubric The degree to which a student demonstrates mastery of the content within a course (related to learning goals). Each course needs to have an analytic rubric that is used to measure each student at the end of the course.
Competency-Based Assessment How a student demonstrates mastery of the content within a course’s analytic rubric. Each course needs to have a competency-based assessment that can be used to measure the level of understanding of a student who would like to opt-out of a given course.
ACTION PLAN • Gather together with your school team and discuss each of the building blocks. • Decide where you are in the process. • Set a concrete goal for reaching your next step. For Example: At ILHS we have created a vision and a mission, we have worked on instructional strategies, and we have defined our school-wide learning goals. Our goal on our next teacher workday is to decide how to assess the school-wide learning goals. We will do this by ……………..
