1984-1987 Don Raleigh Track & Field
From 1984-87, track and field star Don Raleigh was a four-time outdoor and three-time indoor NAIA national qualifier. Raleigh owned the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Conference, winning titles in all four of his years.
Don’s personal-best of 7-feet stood for many years as the school, conference and district record. Don was a three-time All-American in the high jump, twice finishing as national runner-up.
Don’s success began long before his time as a Ranger. He was a four-time state qualifier during his prep days at Claremore Sequoyah, winning a state championship as a senior. He holds a master’s degree from Oklahoma State and is currently working toward his doctorate.
Don’s career path took him into the education field. He coached high school basketball, track and football from 1988-2000, helping lead Southlake Carroll to the 1993 Texas 3A State Football Championship.
Raleigh transitioned from the classroom into administration in 2002 and has spent the past six years as Superintendent of the Pryor (OK) School District. He was named 2012 OASA District 6 Superintendent of the Year.
