EDTC 6323 Midterm Presentation Lesson: A Guide to Creating an Online MOODLE Course in CLOE Learning Station Presenter - John Morales
What is the ultimate goal of the project? • Complete the 3 objectives of the project: • 1) design document; • 2) multimedia learning object; and • 3) project evaluation • Specifically, develop an introduction and one of the six topics in my lesson into 2 multimedia learning objects.
What does the learning object look like? • Now – lesson is in the form of design document with developer notes. • It is taking shape and most development decisions have been made.
What does the learning object look like? • End product – 2 Adobe Captivate modules
What lessons have you learned? • A detailed design document makes development much easier. • Using a recorded demonstration vs. a live demonstration might be a better option at times. • Design like graphic communications, technical communications and web/multi-media design are closely related.
What is the chance of finishing the project by the deadline? • Avoiding any foreseeable emergencies in my personal or professional life, 100% on schedule. • Factors influencing timeliness: • Dealing with MOODLE upgrade to 2.3; current version is MOODLE 1.9. • Blessed to have development experience which helps improve production time.
Is there any other concern or issue that may interest the class as a whole? • To avoid multiple revisions, keep content as generic as possible to avoid name changes in the future, unless necessary. • Ex. PDD Learning Station | CLOE Learning Station | DFPS Learning Station • 1 hour of instruction can lead to 100+ hours of eLearning development. • variable is complexity
