Location : Ubinasia Nature : Swine Flu Outbreak Objective : Setup communication facilities

Issues encountered : • letter of authority – invitation from local NS • arrangement with the land owner/ no local NS presence • power is not stable • disturbance from local community/ local NS
Recommendation : • standard reporting format for all teams • standard form for equipment on loan • standard information sheet
Accomplishments: • Assist DM to relay messages • Assist NS to send/scan email • Assist other team – team charlie CODAN cable • Training local NS on how technology used

Good : Team work each person knows responsibility Bad : Response to “visitors” Do better : Time organization No security briefing at the beginning of exercise
Team (Alpha) • bring all identification • open all boxes • know culture • format all comm frequency • realtime information - rdrt.blogspot.com • trial run
Team (Bravo) • compensation to the land owner – ropes and SGD50 • media handling • get power stabiliser • erase all existing frequency
Team (Charlie) • expect the worst in all mission • what went well • manage to get report out on time • what went wrong • missed some items • do first thing first • first time using the equipment • log sheet • no proper keys • no screw-driver/allen keys
Issues: • winding down • team leader • team leader is a facilitator • team leader get stressed • footwear must be appropriate • duty rosters • different cultures – different habits and needs • understand your capabilities – gps, setting-up antenna etc. • body language • ask for help when necessary • battery not fully charged • different skills level • stress is a very good short-cut • this training is only for IT RDRT
