CONCEPT MAP REFLECTIONS Maxine Suffrien_Arthur EDID 6503 Course Facilitator: Dr. Hill
Differences between 1st and 2nd • The first concept map only highlights how the three fields (distance education, instructional design and instructional technology) are defined and basic links between the three fields. • However, the second concept map adds greater interrelationship between the parts in the instructional design process and the time line the knowledge was acquired.
Factors that Influenced My New Map a) Feedback about the weaknesses of the first concept map. b) Acquisition of the text book for the course which has helped to make certain concepts and constructs more understandable.
Factors that Influenced My New Map • Assignment # 3 (constructing instructional model) played a major in aiding the understanding of the field and hence I was better able to put my thoughts in perspective. • Motivation to be able to better conceptualize the course since the map can form a framework to continuously redesign my knowledge as I continue to investigate and develop a better understanding of the afore mentioned fields
How My Knowledge Changed • There is a greater understanding of the types of theories and how they help to shape the Instructional design process.
