UNESCO’s Strategy with and forYouth To increase presence and participation of young people and their organizations in UNESCO’s bodies (Secretariat, Permanent Delegations, NatComms), events and forums the participation function To enhance partnerships between UNESCO and youth organizations, In setting up projects and programs the partnership function To provide assistance to Member States in mainstreaming youth concerns and issues into policies and programs, and seek ways to involve youth organizations and credit them with results the policy development function To act as clearing house of information concerning youth, preparing and disseminating publications the promotion function To work with youth organizations in follow-up and evaluation processes of projects targeting young people, and encourage research on the promotion of positive youth image the monitoring function

Inclusion / cooperation with National Commissions The Canadian National Commission for UNESCO organizeda Youth Consultation with regards to the central theme of the debates of the 4th UNESCO Youth Forum Swedish National Youth Council and National Commission to UNESCOorganized a similar event for young people from Northern Europe and partner countries of the Swedish National Youth Council in Africa and Asia National Commissions in 22 countries support the L’ORÉAL National Fellowships, to be extended to more than 50 countries by 2008. More than 200 women have benefited from the programme so far Examples
