  24. National SkillsUSA ConferenceLouisville, KY, June 24-29, 2019 • We are looking into securing commercial buses to begin picking up students and advisors in Mobile and Dothan. Our intention is to get maximum participation in order to keep the per-person fee as low as possible. • If travel can secured for $150.00 or less it will not be necessary or prudent for schools and chapters to pay for expensive airfare.

  25. National Conference Updates • Change the clothing penalty sheet to be a yes, they have the right clothing or no they don’t, and this will be a flat 10- point deduction. We will have a note area on the form and the reason will be noted. Championships will still review and confirm before the penalty is applied. • There is no “tie-breaker” test at nationals. A tie will be broken by the Technical Committee within the specific contests.

  26. National Conference Updates • As for the Professional Test. Based on the discussions and subsequent vote the Championships are going to implement the following: • With the help of EDU we will develop a 25 question test that will come from the Career Essentials Foundation, this is available at no charge to all members as well as the SkillsUSA Handbook. • Nationals ask that the 2019 NLSC Test to be administered by the states this year similar to what you have done in the past with the “Old Tie Breaker” • In 2020 the test will be scored as part of the competitors final score. • A study guide made available (by EDU) • Nationals will also continue to work in the SkillsUSA Framework to all contests.

  27. National Conference Updates • Demo Contests for this year currently are: • Barbering • Collision Damage • MLR (High School only) • Cyber Security (Will posted the guidelines on or about October 25th).
