  1. The internet By Khairul and Jun Jie

  2. The Internet connects personal computers, mainframes, cell phones. All of these computer connections exist for the sake of free information sharing. What is the internet ?

  3. What is the different from internet and the world-wide net? • The Internet and the World Wide Web have a whole-to-part relationship. The Internet is the large container, and the Web is a part within the container. It is common in daily conversation to abbreviate them as the "Net" and the "Web", and then swap the words interchangeably. But to be technically precise, the Net is the restaurant, and the Web is the most popular dish on the menu.

  4. What are the advantages and disadvantage of the web Advantages •  It functions as a valuable resource of information. • sending an e-mail, we can contact a person who is physically present thousand miles away within the fraction of a second’s time. Disadvantages • Virus is a program that interrupts the usual operation of your personal computer system. PCs linked to the Internet have high probability of virus attacks • Spamming: Spamming denotes distribution of unsolicited e-mails in large numbers. They are meaningless and they unnecessarily block the whole system

  5. How can you protect yourself from danger while you are online? • Never give any information out about yourself (or anyone else) over the Internet. • Never download any files on to your computer without a parent or adult's consent. • If anyone online says anything inappropriate to you, harasses you, or sends you unwanted e-mail, tell an adult immediately, and report it to the proper authorities. • Remember that on the Internet, people can pretend to be who they are not, and they may go to great lengths to sound convincing. • If you use chat rooms, use a different chat name (if possible) than your user name or e-mail address. • Remember, Internet friendships, relationships, and conversations can never be as true, personal, and rewarding as they are in person. If you really need to talk to someone, find a friend, family member, or adult you trust. • Be wary of ANYONE who wants to know personal information about you
