Blizzards Blizzards occur at high latitudes where very cold weather is frequent and wind is easily generated. Blizzards are most common in the United States, particularly the upper Midwest and the Great Plains according to the National Weather Service. Blizzards are common in Canada and Russia as well. Mountains is where wind is easily generated because there are no obstructions
1972 Iran Blizzard The 1972 Iran blizzard happened in obviously Iran in 1972. It was the deadliest blizzard ever recorded. The blizzard lasted about 6 days. It resulted in the deaths of approximately 4,000 people, the highest in history. Iran 1972
Blizzard warning signs • If wind picks up, a blizzard may be imminent. Look for rustling tree leaves or shaking signs of mail boxes. 2. A grey skyline with clouds low in the sky that look line rain clouds often means snow. A halo around the sun or moon also suggests snow. If it is already snowing, a blizzard is more likely.

Preparations and survival for blizzards Get a phone.It is important to contact people and tell them that you are a live so they would not freak out. Get a safety kit. A safety kit should include a flash light (alternative light source) , food supply, a puzzle because it gets very boring and any other things you can think off to keep you alive during a blizzard. If you are caught in a blizzard or a snow storm it is VERY important to keep warm.
