2. History(causes) • It is thought to have begun with the Mary Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Women(1792) • The Seneca Falls Convention(1848) was an influential women’s rights convention. They made a continuing effort to greater social, civil, and moral rights. It is known as the moment women started pushing for women’s rights and it started the women’s rights movement. • Later on, National Women Suffrage Association(NWSA), who worked to secure women's power, and National American Women Suffrage Association(NAWSA), wanting to pass women’s suffrage law, were formed.

3. Arguement • Women should have rights because it creates equal opportunity for everyone. Equality is a common goal within the United States and others so women's rights/equal rights is a smart idea. Were all human so we should all be treated the same. • Everyone knows the “All men are created equal” saying, so why not use it better? It equally applies to women, as well as men. Women are human beings, all of us are, so if one person gets rights, then shouldn’t everyone? Although in some countries, women lack the rights they should, over time, countries have improved equality between genders.

Facts • We all know that women were paid less and couldn’t hold high-ranking jobs but there other facts that are surprising. • -In China, Confucian ideas said that women were the cause of a disorder and they shouldn’t listen to them. They also were expected to have a son, it was a disgrace if she had a girl. • -Colleges also openly expressed that they discriminate against women. Its very hard for women to get into college, which makes it hard to get a degree, which makes it hard to get a job. • -They couldn’t get a divorce from an abusive husband, so they don’t even bother reporting it because not only they can’t divorce him but they’re pressured to keep a family. • -It is acceptable for men to beat their wives because with no rights, there’s nothing they can do.

5. Facts • 1908- women were allowed to have control over their possesions. • 1958- women were allowed to get a divorce from their husband and inherit property. • -Womens wages are 51.3% lower than a mans wage

6. Importance • To some, women's rights might not seem that important but these rights give women what they deserve like: - right to vote - right to hold public office - right to work - right to have equal pay or fair wages - right to be educated - right to own property - right to be in the military - right to make legal contacts - right to have marital, parental, and religious rights • Can you imagine what the world would be like if these weren't allowed?

10. This map show the women that are in government. Some of them might seem low but they have gotten a lot higher since the beginning of the movement. Yellow(21%-25%) is the most common and white(5%-10%) is the least.
