Welcome to Clifton Park Open House! Mrs. Bohannon Kindergarten
Reminders • Book in a Bag • Signing Planners • Snacks • Water Bottles • Sleep Regimen & Breakfast • Needed Items
Book in a Bag • Students will have 4 books (unless it is a short week) in his/her book in a bag. Please keep them in the bag all week. • We recommend students read 1 book 3 times • Read the book to them • Read the book with them • Then have them read it to someone else • Use the green sheet inside his/her book in a bag to help your child. If you don’t have one ask me for a copy. • This should be an enjoyable time together!
Planners • Please sign or initial the planner daily. • We recognize this as you have seen the behavior for the day and have done book in a bag/homework. • Please help your child remember to pack the binder nightly. • All notes and lunch money should be in the front pocket of the binder.
Snacks • Snack time is in the morning. We eat lunch at 12:00. • Each child is responsible for providing his/her own snack everyday. We do NOT allow juice because when it spills it is sticky. We all have water fountains in our classrooms. • Please help your child to pack a nutritious snack. • We respectfully request snacks to be easy to open and do not require a spoon. We are usually teaching and the students are usually working while enjoying their snack. • Some healthy suggestions are grapes, pretzels, carrot sticks, granola bars, bananas, and crackers.
Water Bottles Students are allowed to bring a water bottle only for P.E. We do not use the water bottles in the classroomsince we do have fountains in every room.
Sleep Regimen & Breakfast • Did you know brains grow while sleeping? • Please allow for your child to receive the recommended 9-10 hours of sleep a night. • Kindergarten does not have nap time during the school day. • Please allow for your child to eat breakfast at home or at school. It’s difficult to focus when your belly is empty, and if children don’t bring a snack it’s a long time to lunch at 12:00.
Needed Items • 2 gallon size plastic bags • 1 gallon size plastic bags • Quart size plastic bags • Paper plates
