  2. DAIRY PRODUCTS To meet the need of your growing little one, you need to consume extra protein and calcium. You should add dairy products like yogurt, milk, and cheese to your diet. Dairy products contain 2 types of proteins. They are casein and whey. Dairy products can provide high amounts of calcium, vitamin B, zinc, etc. phosphorus,

  3. LEGUMES Legumes are lentils, peas, beans, soybeans, and so on. They are plant-based products rich in iron, fiber, calcium, and protein and are needed by your body during pregnancy. These products also carry folate. It is the essential vitamin B that is required for your baby when you are in the first trimester. You should consume at least 600 micrograms of folate daily for a healthier pregnancy.

  4. SALMON Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D. This fish can help in the formation of the brain, bones, eyes, and immune system. Salmon is low in mercury and perfectly safe during pregnancy. However, you must avoid high- mercury fishes, like swordfish, king mackerel, shark, etc.

  5. EGG Eggs contain a little bit of almost every nutrient that you are supposed to eat during pregnancy. A normal- sized egg can carry up to 80 calories, of fat, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Eggs can be a source of choline which is a very important nutrient during pregnancy.

  6. DRIED FRUITS Dried fruits are high in calories, fiber, folate, iron, potassium, etc. They are natural laxatives and might help in relieving constipation. Though dried fruits increase the amount of calories and nutrients in your body, it is suggested not to consume more than one serving at a time.

  7. Orange juice Orange juice contains folate, potassium, and vitamin C. It can prevent birth defects by providing necessary nutrients to your baby. The vitamin C content in orange juice will help your baby to absorb iron. So, it is suggested to have a glass of orange juice every day as a part of your morning breakfast.

  8. Leafy vegetables They are rich in nutrients and we all know that nutrients can help in protecting the body against diseases. Besides nutrients, leafy vegetables are also rich in antioxidants, fiber, calcium, and potassium. These can help during your pregnancy.
