AIP-7 Plenary COBWEB Project Results Demonstration

COBWEB is a project funded under the EU's AIP-7, focusing on utilizing crowdsourced environmental data to aid decision-making by introducing quality measures and reducing uncertainty. The initiative involves integrating such data with reference data, creating a Spatial Data Infrastructure and linking with national SDIs and initiatives like INSPIRE and GEOSS. The project, led by Chris Higgins from EDINA, University of Edinburgh, is in its 25th month, with milestones like completing the first Welsh demonstrator and preparing for field testing. The platform aims to offer citizen groups in designated Biosphere Reserves a chance to test and co-design the platform, with data accessible via OGC Web Services and GeoNetwork. Authentication is enabled through an Access Management Federation, positioning COBWEB as a vital component in the future of environmental data initiatives.
