Dear Mr. Henshaw By: Beverly Cleary Book Report By: Danny Mahoney
Setting The setting of my story is in his room where he writes to Mr. Henshaw or writes in his diary. His room
Main Character • Leigh Botts: • A boy who is really confident about becoming a writer when he’s older because his teacher says that he’s a good writer. He’s also the boy who writes to Mr. Henshaw. Leigh Botts
Other Characters • Mrs. Botts • Mr. Botts • Bandit • Mr. Henshaw
Situation • Dear Mr. Henshaw is a story about a boy named Leigh Botts who writes in a diary. His parents are divorced and his lunch has been getting stolen at school.
Solution • He’s mad that they’re stealing his lunch so he wants to punch the guy in the face. But • Then his janitor tells him to put a burglar alarm on his lunch box. He did, and no one stole his lunch again.
Solution • He then had to get his parents back together, he failed. But then one day his dad came and asked Leigh’s mom if they can get back together. She said………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Ending • No. But he still had a good life after that.
Opinion • I didn’t like the book because all he’s doing the whole time is writing to Mr. Henshaw or writing in his diary and I like stories when there’s more adventure going on. I would recommend this book • To anyone who likes diaries. 0/10 Awful
