  3. Harry Hess’s Books Harry Hess wrote quiet a few books. Most are about the ocean, but some are about the world. • "Drowned ancient islands of the Pacific basin". • "Major structural features of the south-west Pacific: a preliminary interpretation of H. O. 5484, bathymetric chart, New Guinea to New Zealand.". • "Geological hypotheses and the Earth's crust under the oceans • "The oceanic crust". • "Serpentines, orogeny and epeirogeny • "Nature of great oceanic ridges". • "The AMSOC hole to the Earth's mantle".

  4. Harry Hess’s Working Abilities • Harry Hess was a teacher In 1932-1933 at Rutgers University in New Jersey. After that he went as a visiting professor at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Harry Hess was also in the military. He joinded during world war II He was captain of the USS cape Johnson.

HE Came up with the theory of that the Earth's crust moved away from long, volcanically active ocean ridges . He could only figure this out when Bruce Heezen discovered the great global rift along the mid Atlantic ridge. This was accepted in the 1960s.

  7. Harry Hess’s accomplishment • Harry Hess’s theory changed our world for good. • I feel like if he didn’t make that discovery the our world would not be that invested in science. We wouldn’t know as much about the world today, if we didn’t make this discovery.So, yes it did change our world for good.
