  2. Greece’s Capital City • Greece is located in southern Europe, bordering the Aegean Sea, Ionian Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. It also borders Albania and Turkey. The capital city of Greece is Athens.

  3. Greek Cuisine • Moussaka- This is a baked dish made with sliced eggplant, lean ground beef, onions, tomatoes, butter, eggs, milk, cheese and seasonings. It is the national dish of Greece.

  4. Greek Cuisine • Pilafi- fluffy rice simmered in butter, spices, and rich chicken stock.

  5. Imports and Exports • The major imports of Greece are machinery, transport equipment, fuels, and chemicals. • The major exports of Greece are foods and beverages, manufactured goods, petroleum products, chemicals, and textiles.

  6. Government of Greece • Greece is a parliamentary republic. The current president of Greece is Karolos Papoulias. The prime minister of Greece is Konstandinos Karamanlis. The minster of development in Greece is Christos Folias.

  7. Transportation in Greece • Most people in Greece use roads as their form of transportation. Some examples of these are buses, trains, and sidewalks.

  8. Education in Greece • The education in Greece is free and mandatory for all children that are six to fifteen years old. The literacy rate in Greece is 97%.

  9. Holidays in Greece • Some of the holidays that people in Greece are: • Independence Day- March 25th • Labour Day- May 1st • Ochi Day- October 28th • Assumption- August 15th • Boxing Day- December 26th
