Recognition… Each member that takes a test will receive a certificate of participation; those scoring between 55-100 will receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal depending on their test score. Gold: 85-100 Silver: 84- 70 Bronze: 55-69 Certificate: below 54
Child Development-FCSA • Members will answer questions related to the development of a child • The contents is based on information studied in child development units of study
Basic Culinary Math • Housing/Interior Design Banking/Investments Consumer Math - FCSA • Members will answer consumer math related questions during the quiz. • The content questions cover area of:
Culinary Arts-FCSA • Members will answer questions related to the culinary arts field. • terms • methods of cookery • presentation • Important information to know if working within the industry
Education and Training FCSA • Members will answer questions related to the education and training field. • Content is geared toward students studying and interested in the profession of teaching
Etiquette-FCSA • Participants will demonstrate basic knowledge of proper etiquette by answering questions during a quiz related to meal and social etiquette.
Fashion Design-FCSA • Participants will demonstrate basic knowledge of fashion design by answering questions during a quiz related to fashion.
Creed, Mission and Purpose - FCSA Participants will write the FCCLA creed and punctuate it according to the nationally adopted creed. Participants will also be tested on their knowledge of the 8 FCCLA Purposes and be asked to write the FCCLA Mission Statement.
Hospitality - FCSA • Participants will demonstrate basic knowledge and skill related to the hospitality industry.
Interior Design-FCSA • Members will answer questions related to interior design including: • Principles and Elements of Design • Color • Furniture Placement • Traffic Patterns
Job Interview -FCSA • Participants will answer interview etiquette questions related to: • Dress • Interviewing Skills • Resumes • Follow up
Parliamentary Procedure FCSA • Participants will demonstrate basic parliamentary knowledge by answering questions during a quiz. Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised is the official FCCLA parliamentary procedure authority.
Step One - FCSA Participants will demonstrate basic knowledge of FCCLA including organization history and national programs.
Family and Consumer Sciences Assessments • FCSA's tests are related to the Career Clusters and are extensions of the curriculum competencies taught through the FCS courses. • Through FCSA's ANY student, regardless of level and ability, has an opportunity to participate and receive recognition. • Because FCSA's are proficiency/competitive events administrators might be more willing to allow members to attend fall leadership, region and state meetings.
Family and Consumer Sciences Assessments Members may take the FCSA quizzes at: • Fall Leadership WorkshopsDates and locations to be posted to the FCCLA website. • Region FCCLA Meetings • State FCCLA Leadership Conference
How to Sign up for FCSA's • Go to www.texasfccla.org • Select the Region Meeting link. • Register for the FCSA’s either with your region meeting registration or separately through the online meeting registration link. • Cost is $10 per test, pre-registered. Only one test per student. • Members may register on site at the meetings, however, the cost is $15.00 per student ,
