  3. We are a collaborativeCoVE in our “interim year” which means we are in a development year

CoVE STRATEGY • Government initiative established in 2001 • To develop skills for employment • Particular focus on level 3 learners • Meet the needs of employers locally • Develop new courses • Improve progression routes into HE • Establish 400 CoVE’s by 2006 • Currently 25 involved in EY’s & Playwork

  6. CoVE COURSES All vocational, Level 3 courses: • NVQ Children's Care, Learning & Development • NVQ Early Years Care & Education • NVQ Diploma in Playwork • CACHE Diploma in Child Care & Education • EDEXCEL National Diploma in Early Years

  7. PROGRESSION ROUTES • Level 1: Introduction to Child Care & Playwork • Level 2: NVQ/Certificate in Child Care & Playwork • Level3: NVQ/Diploma in Child Care & Playwork • Level 4: Foundation Degree & beyond

  8. ACHIEVEMENTS TO DATE • Developed links with local employers • Increased learner numbers on courses • Established new courses • Delivering courses in the local community • Improved accommodation, facilities, equipment and learning materials
