Session Description “Good communication doesn’t just happen; it is the result of good design.” (Stephen Few) What does the communication driver system really LOOK like in Blueprint installing districts? In this session participants will take this driver system beyond the protocol and explore examples of how it changes as we progress through installation.
Session Outcomes Participants Will: • Develop understandings of the Communications Driver System; • Examine multiple district approaches with using this vital driver system; • Understand how to monitor and adjust the use of this driver system.
Outcome 1: Develop understandings of the Communications Driver System
Communications Driver System This system provides clear internal and external communication to present the district’s approach to systemic reconfiguration, to illustrate how the district guides and supports improvements in teaching and learning, and to clarify the distinct but interconnected roles of both the district and the school in the Blueprint installation process. In your own words, what is this system really about?
Summary of Research • Effective organizational change practices related to communication: Identifying and articulating a clear vision, encouraging the recognition of group goals, providing individualized enhancement, providing academic and intellectual motivation, providing a proper model, and setting high performance expectations, all of which involve effective communication.
