  1. Mixtures Suspension colloid solution

  2. Particles of Mixtures

  3. Colloids Milk, toothpaste, and mayonnaise are homogeneous mixtures. They are also colloids.

  4. Colloids Colloids are mixtures whose particles are larger than the size of a molecule but smaller than particles that can be seen with the naked eye.

  5. Colloids In a colloid the particles are mixed together but not dissolved. The particles are relatively large and are kept permanently suspended.

  6. Examples Colloids are common in everyday life. Some examples include whipped cream, mayonnaise, milk, butter, gelatin, jelly, muddy water, plaster, colored glass, and paper

  7. Tyndall Effect

  8. Suspensions A suspension is a mixture of liquids with particles of a solid which may not dissolve in the liquid. The solid may be separated from the liquid by leaving it to stand, or by filtration Examples sand in water

  9. Suspensions Suspensions: are heterogeneous mixtures of a solid and a liquid in which the solid does not dissolve. Suspensions will settle when left standing undisturbed. Suspensions will show the tyndall effect.
