The Smog Smog is a type of air pollution. The word "smog" was made in the early 20th century as a portmanteau of the words smoke and fog to refer to smoky fog. Smog is caused by the burning of large amounts of coal within a city but today the Modern smog, as found for example in Los Angeles, is a type of air pollution derived from vehicular emission and industrial fumes that react in the atmosphere, smog is composed of combustion particles and gases(carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, hydrocarbon and ozone. Health effect Air pollution is a significant risk for health including respiratory infection (asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis or lung cancer)”Worldwide more deaths per year are linked to air pollution than to automobile accidents ( The Telegraph. Retrieved August 14, 2012)
Greenhouseeffect Greenhouse effect gases are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and chlorofluorocarbon. Most of them are from human origin but some of them are natural ( volcano, animals, decomposition)
