Event Grants • $20,000 in matching funds from City of Mandan sales tax fund provided to 19 organizations in 2010 • for events that attract people to Mandan and stimulate economic activity • Factors considered • Value of event to Mandan & local merchants • Quality of past events • # of spectators or participants • #of times organization has requested funding • Preference given to new events • Maximum $5,000 per organization • 50% cash, 50% Mandan Bucks

Community cooperation at its best • Funding and support provided by City of Mandan • Via sales tax fund through a 6-year plan • $100,000 in years 1 to 3 (2007 to 2009) • $75,000 year 4 (2010) • $50,000 year 5 (2011) • $25,000 year 6 (2012) • Objective is to become more self-sufficient • Opportunity to request additional funding on a project-by-project basis thereafter
