  3. VITAMIN-A(RETINOL) • Carotene is the precursor of vitamin A. It is also termed as Pro-vitamin-A.

  4. SOURCESAS Carotene Present in orange-yellow coloured vegetables & Green leafy vegetables like: 1.Carrot 2. Pumpkin 3. Papaya 4. Spinach 5. Mustered leaves.

  5. Asretinol • Present in animal foods like fish liver oils, meat, fish, egg, milk etc.

  6. FUNCTIONS • 1. Helps in growth & development. • 2. Required for proper eyesight. • 3. Required for development of epithelial tissue, for healthy glowing skin. • 4. Helps the body to fight against infection.
