PURPOSE OF BUSINESS PLAN • Creating written document reveals so much about you and your business skills. • Your writing tells the reader about your educational and business knowledge background, and also pride in your work and business expertise. • It express your business ideas clearly and the turn over profit in the future years. • It also used as a tool in-terms of applying for a business loan or grand support.

COVER PAGE OF THE BUSINESS PLAN • This is the first page covering the Contents of a business plan. • It should reflect the information such as: • Name of the proposed business • Location of the business/ municipal/district • Trading name of the entity • Organization/company compiled the plan • Date on which the plan was compiled

TABLE OF CONTENTS BUSINESS PLAN • These are the elements that need to be adhered to, when compiling a business plan. • It also form the basis of a viable and sustainable of the proposed business • Serves and gives the reader a direction of what topics are stated • It must includes topics and page number • Business plan topics must includes the following:

TABLE OF CONTENTS (Continue) Executive Summary • This is the most important part of the plan, as it gives a brief overview of what the business is all about and what to achieve in the future. • This is the part that will make the reader more interested on the entire documents • Therefore it must be drafted with courtesy, and the total cost implications of the proposed business should also be indicated in this summary. (Highlights/ Start-up requirements)

Try to use words that will help direct the growth of your company, but be as concise as possible. • Also indicates the short, medium and long term objectives of the entity in business

TABLE OF CONTENTS (Continue) Start-up Summary • Start-up expenses must be tabulated including all relevant materials, labour cost in advice before profit margin picks up. • Also it must includes start-up assets, start-up stock to fund. • Fixed assets must also be included as it may be used as security if needed.

(how your company intend to target the existing markets on the same industry)

Strengths- Describe the passion, drive, enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by your company. • Weakness- State the current challenges that may result to the down fall for the business and explain how the company intend to over come that. • Opportunities- state the existing opportunities for the business in the future and the possibilities of growth in sales and profit of the entity. • Threats- State the threats from direct and indirect factors that may stabilize your business and be liquidated.

TABLE OF CONTENTS (Continue) Management Summary- Monitory& Evaluation Plan • Monitory and Evaluation plan must also be included on the Management summary plan. • This section should give an indication on how the project/business will be monitored so as to be in a position to track the progress. • Evaluation involves the extent in which the project/business has met its objectives and if not, which corrective measures to be placed.

Which must include- • Skill development plan • Employment equity plan

  19. Local Economic Development Programme the primary objective of (LEDP) is to ensure poverty eradication and community up-lift in the place from which majority of workforce is being out-sourced. This must include- • Social and economic background information of the area • Key economic activities • The impact that the business will bring on the community • Poverty eradication plan on employees and community • Social changes • Technological changes • Legislative changes

TABLE OF CONTENTS (Continue) Financial Plan • Financial risks: Describe the financial risks that may lead to financial impacts. • Cash flow forecast plan: that defines financial model, pricing assumptions, ruling prices and reviews yearly expected sales and profits for the next five years. • Use several slides to cover this material appropriately.
