Mobile Source Outreach Assistance • $550,000; 6 grants; air pollution control agencies & multi-state organizations supporting those agencies • Program emphasis: voluntary measures, commuter choice, and transportation choices • Criteria: improves AQ, public health message, transferability, evaluation For more information contact: Susan Bullard, 202-564-9856

Brownfields Economic Redevelopment Initiative • Brownfields Assessment Demonstration Pilots • 362 pilots, $200,000 over 2 years • testing redevelopment models, removing regulatory barriers, and bringing together broad base of affected parties. • 56 pilots received supplemental funding ($150K for expanding efforts & $50K for assessment or greenspace purposes.) • In FY01, EPA plans to provide $10 million in assessment pilot funding For more information visit: http://www.epa.gov/brownfields

Brownfields Economic Redevelopment Initiative (cont.) • BF Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund • Community need for more clean-up funds • EPA provides $500K to pilots to establish RLF • Loan repayments fund new cleanup loans • In FY01 EPA plans to award $40 million in grants • Job Training and Development Pilots • Prepare trainees for future employment in environmental field • $200K/2yrs: universities, non-profit training centers, states, Tribes, community job-training organizations For more information visit: http://www.epa.gov/brownfields
