P&W Expectations for QAT • AST was a successful NASA/Industry program, provides a blueprint for QAT • QAT is funded at 1/2 of AST Noise Element, that has an impact on expectations • The engines make most of the noise, therefore engine noise-reduction technology will be at least 50% of QAT • There is a parallel NASA UEET engine program, QAT and UEET will be tightly integrated • AST Engine Noise/Propulsion Elements focussed on noise/NOX, QAT/UEET will focus on noise/NOX/CO2/GCC, thus increased emphasis on reducing fuel burn W.
